A delivery driver briefly detained in connection with the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has been released without charges. Carlos Palazuelos, 36, was taken into custody on February 10 in Arizona as the search for Nancy — mother of Savannah Guthrie — entered its 11th day. Authorities have not named any official suspects. Speaking outside his home, Palazuelos said he was held for several hours and maintained his innocence. He told reporters he had never heard of Nancy Guthrie and may have delivered a package to her home around February 1, near the time she went missing.
“I hope they find the real suspect and clear my name,” he said. DoorDash confirmed it is cooperating with investigators and expressed sympathy for the Guthrie family, stating it is ready to assist authorities however possible. Meanwhile, the broader investigation continues.
